Vintage Tea Party

For some time now, as you all know, I have been planning a tea party for my daughter who is turning 6 {tomorrow!}. It feels like I have been planning this party forever!!
Well, I can safely say that we have had this party and with only a few glitches, it didn't turn out too bad!
Weather posed as a big problem....we initially were going to set up in our backyard on our deck, but at the last moment our deck started to leak from the heaviness of the rain!! So, I turned to plan B, to set up in our dining room!!
I wasn't sure how this would look, but it turned out pretty nice.
So, without further ado, here is Olivia's Vintage Tea Party!

Enjoying the Ribbon Wands

My idea for this party was to get away from the typical pink's which are always associated with little girls!! So we opted for lilac, baby blue and cream/white. I wanted to keep the table linen simple with a white linen tablecloth and used different textured ribbons, in the party's theme colours, for the table runner. I added pearls down either side for a little extra vintage!!
I had Olivia's dress made to suit the style and colours of the party and the dress was made by the lovely Carolyn of Chicoco.
I also wanted to keep away from the typical party favours of lollies and cheap toys, whilst also keeping in with the theme, I decided to have handmade dolls, ribbon wands, hair fascinators, mini tote bags and teapot cookies made for the girls to enjoy and take home. A lovely momento of their day.
I put together a lovely framed placecard for each guest which they also took home along with the teacups and saucers!

So this is what my vision was for a vintage tea party, while also keeping it at a little girl's level.....and as you can see, a fun time was had by the girls' {and I must admit, that I too had a ball!}. These girls' were so fun to have together and are all divine little women. I look forward to many more moments like this with these girls' throughout their friendships xo
